“My First Auto Accident” by Stephanie Daniel

It was a sunny day, and I like most people was in a particularly good mood because the sun was shining

and all was well in the neighborhood. I was on the way to pick my children up from school and thought  I

would stop to get them a snack. Children usualy like an afterschool snack. I had gotten a new car about two

months ago, so I looked forward to any chance I could get to get in my car and drive. I would get in the car

and find a little smudge on the window and think  its time to wash the car  when it had only been two days

since I washed it last.

I picked my children up they were so happy to get their little snack  everybody is in their seatbelts and we are off.

I am traveling along on a straight road no crooks no turns  not even a little bit of winding. The children  are nice and

quiet enjoying the sunny day and mommy’s new car that she has only had for two months. My car still had the new

car smell.  We decide to take the long way home , and this is what begins one of the most scariest events of my life.

I am traveling on this straight road and I have a green light ahead so I’m thinking I’m traveling at a good speed

lets keep it moving. I see a white car at the intersection I am approaching the car was kinda of sitting in the middle

from what I could see at the distance I was at. I came to find out later that there was a sign posted that said “Do Not Block

The Intersection” if you know what I mean.

The person in the white car that is sitting in the middle of the intersection decides they want to try to beat my car

which is traveling about 30 mph which is the speed limit for this particular road. Now I am thinking surely she

is not going to go. I’m saying to myself she will wait till I pass. Well she did not wait and I slammed right into the

side of her car.

My first reaction was to make sure my children were ok. My next reaction was to curse whoever was in this

white car that I had hit out. Afterall she had ruined my sunny day and my nice car so I was pissed. The

children and I were fine and the driver of the other car were fine, but my nice car with the new car smell

was totaled and that is why I now drive a nineteen ninety-nine Hyundai.

I’m sorry to hear that, there are many stupid people in the world, but at least you and your family are safe.. thats the most important thing.

Its true that you lose alot when you get involved in an accident. However, you all survived, and thats what really counts. cars come and go. Trust me on that one.
